The objective of this integrated campaign for the Smoking Vehicle Program was to increase awareness and empower the demographic to join the 1-800-EXHAUST programs. Print, OOH, videos and rich media were used to increase awareness and to drive the target to BAAQMD’s site for more information. Social marketing through Facebook and Twitter, allowed people to report smoking vehicles and speak with others about the program. Frequent posts continued to update followers on respiratory health, vehicle-related emissions, and green vehicle news. A five minute video went viral.


The campaign generated over 46 million impressions and significantly increased website traffic, while recruiting clean air advocates to help remove hundreds of smoking vehicles from our roads.
